It activates when darkness and motion (up to 30 feet) are both detected or switch it on using the remote from up to 75 feet away. It automatically turns off 30 seconds or 20 minutes (you choose) since last motion detection. The two thumbscrews easily allow you to change the light direction both vertically and horizontally. With an average battery life of one year, this light is extremely economical to run.
