Organics for Kids

It Must Be Green | Ethical & Fairtrade |  Organics for Kids

Beautiful clothes for babies made exclusively from fairly traded, 100% organic textiles

We currently source our certified organic cotton from two organic cotton suppliers, with whom we work very closely. When it is available, we use certified Fairtade cotton, and when it is not available we are nevertheless confident that our cotton is fairly traded (meaning that farmers are paid a reasonable and normally premium price for their cotton, and are not exploited in the process). All of our cotton from both suppliers is certified organic by one or more of the following:

SKAL
SKAL is an internationally recognised (Dutch) body, which ensures that the cotton is grown organically, and that the processing (spinning, weaving, washing, dyeing, etc) is undertaken in an environmentally responsible way.

IMO
Both of our stockists are also certified by the Swiss organic certification body, IMO.

GOTS
Our cotton also adheres to the new GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARDS.

Soil Association
We have recently become certified by the The Soil Association and this covers many of our products. We hope it will very soon cover our entire range.

Our dyes
The dyes used on our fabrics are not organic themselves, but meet the Oeko-tex 100 standard, which protects against harmful substances. They are also covered by the obove organic inspection processes.

Made in England
We are passionate about supporting the local textile sector and workers. The majority of our range is manufactured in the UK, at a small factory just outside Nottingham. We have worked with this factory since we started and have a close working relationship, which allows us flexibility and excellent quality control. We have watched the factory struggle to survive the rush to off-shore manufacting, and we are committed to working with them. This gives us the confidence to know the conditions under which our garments are being manufactured and we believe that the quality they produce is unbeatable. We are delighted that the factory has been approved to make our clothes by the Soil Association.

Made in India
A small part of our collection is manufactured by a Fairtrade Foundation approved factory in India. We have visited the factory and are confident that they have good social and environmental standards. The factory grows its own cotton, some of which is also certified by the Fairtrade Foundation. While we support the efforts of the Fairtrade Foundation in developing countries, we are also passionate about supporting the UK textile sector and workers, and have a commitment to manufacturing the majority of our range in the UK.
