About the artisans who make these

The artisans who make our Ishi pottery are permanently employed under an umbrella scheme called Artspace. These artisans are provided with housing, medical facilities and education for their children. The older children are also provided further education at training centres to help them learn skills in employment generation programmes. The scheme was set up to provide a platform for growth for skilled artisans who had no form of employment opportunities.
