The pod sits in a refrigerator salad draw, or in a fruit bowl and works by removing the ethylene gas naturally given off fruit and vegetables as they ripen. By removing this gas from the environment the ageing and ripening process is slowed, keeping fruit and vegetables fresher for up to four times longer.

Fresh Pod is completely safe, contains no chemicals that will affect the taste and flavour of fruit and vegetables, and is not a pesticide.

The 12 Months Pack contains two re-usable Pods and four sachets. Each sachet lasts six months, after which time they need to be replaced. Once used, the contents of the sachets are 100% recyclable and make a great fertiliser sprinkled on pot plants or in the garden.

The secret – a natural zeolite mineral which absorbs the ethylene gas normally produced by your fresh fruit and veg. Ethylene gas is responsible for the ripening and the rotting of your fresh produce.

What exactly is in my Fresh Pod?

Fresh Pod really is green and the contents are 100% recyclable. The natural ingredient inside the sachet is zeolite with a small amount of potassium permanganate.
When Fresh Pod goes to work it oxidizes the ethylene gas to become magnesium dioxide, a natural fertilizer. It will be purple in colour and is great for sprinkling on your pot plants or it can simply be thrown away in your regular garbage.
The Fresh Pod sachet itself is completely safe and has even been approved for use with organic food products; it will not harm your fresh produce in any way. The sachets are made from Dupont 'Tyvek' and the inks are soya-based, both carry FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approval for use with food. The pods are manufactured in the UK from food grade polypropylene.
