HOPEFULLY COMING SOON!

These recycled handbags will be the must have environmentally friendly fashion accessory for 2009 and are exclusive to Tilnar Art!

Recycled Vinyl Handbags

The recycled vinyl handbags are fairly traded and handmade from recycled records by our artists in South Africa. The bags are made by a very talented artist called Noel Geyer who lives just outside Cape Town. Noel uses basic tools & rents space in a local school to make these bags. A benefactor donated a box of old LPs. Little did they know that those LPs would give Noel the inspiration & materials to make these wonderful handbags. Each handbag is made from 2 LPs with canvas material binding the records together and forming the bottom of the handbags. The handbags have 2 long straps so can be carried over the shoulder and they have a Velcro strap to close the bags at the top. The bags are fairly traded. The material on the handbags can come in various colours including black, red, purple, white, lime green, blue and silver.

Recycled Car Number Plate Handbags

These Recycled Handbags are made out of recycled car number plates and car tyre inner tubes. The Recycled Car Number Plate Handbags & Wallets are handmade by Leonard who is from Zimbabwe. He is now living in the outskirts of Cape Town. There is no opportunity for work in Zimbabwe and he has family that he sends money to from South Africa.
Leonard was inspired to call his business "Numbers" because of the numbers on the license plates that are discarded when vehicles are re-registered. His vision is to go back to a free Zimbabwe and to run his business from his home.
