Who We Are

TrickleStar develops affordable, simple and easy-to-use products, which help everyday people reduce energy consumption in their homes and workplaces. These products arise from our commitment to doing business in a way that is mindful of our environment and our impact on it, both in the end-products we produce and the processes and materials with which they are made. At TrickleStar, we are proving that "going green" can be good for our customers, good for business and good for our planet.

Our History

Founded in 2007 by Thomas Joergensen and Bernard Emby, TrickleStar leverages their decades of experience in the automation and controls industry, and their knowledge of low-cost, high-volume manufacturing.

Our Strength

"Intelligent Design and Responsible Manufacturing"

Today, we lead in the design and manufacture of products that conserve energy, improve people's lives and minimize environmental impact. With offices in Malaysia, Denmark and the United States, TrickleStar is taking its products, and its energy conservation message, around the world.

Our Products

"Doing a World of Good"

Through intelligent, attractive design, and efficient, low-cost manufacturing, we have made energy conservation both appealing and affordable for consumers around the globe. Our products help reduce electricity bills, saving our customers money while reducing their carbon footprints.

TrickleStar has developed a unique suite of products which address the issue of standby / vampire power used by general appliances, televisions and home entertainment systems, and personal computer peripherals. Also known as vampire power or phantom load, standby power is wasted electrical energy consumed while products and appliances are powered on, but not in use. Many standby products are designed to draw standby power 24 hours per day, seven days a week, every month of the year in order that the devices can act more quickly when the user turns the appliance 'on'.

As such, standby power is both a constant drain on people's wallets as well as the electrical grid, resulting in a huge negative impact on the environment… and our planet. The current TrickleStar product line-up includes Advanced Powerstrips (APS) and Smart Powertaps with the most advanced fireproof surge protection. Our Advanced Powerstrips are the simplest and most effective way to reduce standby power. Users simply plug their TV or PC and all related peripheral devices in and TrickleStar's unique current-sensing circuitry automatically turns power on or off to dependent devices when it senses that the control device (TV or PC) has been turned on or off – thus eliminating standby power drain.

A range of in-line power controllers called TrickleSavers can be used with existing powerstrips and UPS' in much the same way as the Advanced Powerstrips to reduce vampire power. In addition to these products a range of cost effective plug in timers, temperature controllers and humidity controllers will be available in Q3 2010.

Protect Our Environment

"One Watt at a Time"

TrickleStar's #1 objective is to help everyday people substantially reduce energy consumption and waste and hence reduce their individual carbon footprint. Various government analyses estimate that the amount of standby power wasted accounts for as much as 12% of all residential power; a bit lower in some countries, a bit higher in others. The cost of standby power wasted by plug-in products in the United States alone tops more than $4 billion annually. By simply controlling these "always on" power-draining products in just the United States, one household at a time, we can save enough power to meet the electricity needs of the countries of Vietnam, Peru and Greece. On average, a TrickleStar TrickleStrip can save a consumer in the United States $38 per year in electricity costs, or the equivalent of 253 kilowatts of power and nearly 400 pounds of CO2 emissions. Multiply that by millions of individual households and multiple TrickleStrips per household and the cumulative impact of this energy-saving technology is tremendous. Now that's smart power. Thanks to TrickleStar, it's now cool to be green.
